He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Jones, Sr. and Emma Joy Jones; and his grandparents, Leo, Bertha Jones, Otis and Hazel Soileau.

He is survived by: his daughter Hayley Ambler (Robert Ambler, Jr.); his granddaughters, Anne Elizabeth Ambler and Adelaide Louise Ambler of Atlanta, Georgia; and his siblings, Greg Jones (Sharon) of Ville Platte, Kim Jones of Ville Platte and Debora Bordelon of Ville Platte.
