It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Dewey Fontenot Jr. of Ville Platte, Louisiana, who passed away on February 5, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Dewey Fontenot Sr. and Ollie M. Fontenot (LouEtta Marie Johnson); and his siblings, John Sylvan Fontenot, Percy Louis Fontenot, Herman Paul Fontenot, Floyd Fontenot, Bernadette F. Nichols and Ella Mae Reed Guillory.
He is survived by: his sons, Dave Neal Fontenot of Ville Platte and Brett Jude Fontenot Sr. (Christina) of Ville Platte; and his grandchildren, Brittany F. Verrette, Ryan Neal Fontenot, Joseph Adam Fontenot, Brett Jude Fontenot Jr., Nicholas Grant Fontenot and Alaina Lou Fontenot. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
