Though Gertie Lee may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gertie Lee touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her daughters, Roxanna Richard of Ville Platte, LA and Deetra Randal of Ville Platte, LA; and her sisters, Carrie Jack of Ville Platte, LA, Rita Ventress of Opelousas, LA, Emma Wilson of Lake Charles, LA, Elvenia Ardoin and Ester Wilson of Ville Platte, LA.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Zion Travelers Baptist Church (1120 5th St, Mamou, LA 70554). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
