He was predeceased by: his parents, Delta Fontenot and Earline Fontenot of Point Bleu; and his daughter Vickie Marcantel. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Thibodeaux Fontenot; his children, Cindy Conner (John) of Eunice and Robbie David Fontenot of Point Blue; his son-in-law Danzel Marcanel, Jr.; his brother JD Fontenot (Patricia) of Ville Platte; his grandchildren, Beth Reed, Christy Thibodeaux (Jonathon), Trey Marcantel, Aimee Arnold (Austin), Logan Marcantel (Chad Greer), Lindsay Conner-Ali (Jawad), Zacarie Fontenot and Jeremie Fontenot; and his great grandchildren, Kaygun, Kaelyn, Blayklee, A'nah, Ainsley, Layne, Conner and Alice.
