He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Herbert Deshotels and Rose Deshotels; his wife Marie Elmina Deshotels; his children, Karl Deshotels (Rhonda) of Grand Prairie, Peter Deshotels of Grand Prairie and Phyllis Deshotels Stagg (Ricky) of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Robbin Stagg Soileau (Bryan), Holly Stagg Fontenot (Ched), Ashley Stagg Patin (Nicolas), Kristin Stagg Fontenot (Kyle), Kelsey Deshotels Brown (Derek), Gannon Deshotels (Kelli), Blake Delahoussaye (Mckenzie), Shelby Delahoussaye (Ashton) and Johnathon Deshotels; and his sisters, Dorothy Penn of Houston and Patsy Lavergne (Ray) of Abbeville. He was also cherished by 18 great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital because of his struggles with cancer and his love for children.
