He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Launey and Angela Richard Launey; his son Byron Levy Launey Jr.; and his brother Gerald Launey. He is survived by: his wife Laura Demoruelle Launey of Ville Platte; his children, Marcus Launey (Deana) of Eunice and Olivia Launey of Ville Platte; his sister Margaret Launey White (Ronald White) of New Mexico; his friend Dwayne Hargroder; and his grandchildren, Jessica Launey of Port Barre, Molly Launey of Melville, Nicholas Launey of Melville and Aleda Launey of Eunice.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
