With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bess O. Fontenot of Ville Platte, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 30, 2024 at the age of 99. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Bess O. Fontenot to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husbands, Henry "Ton" Lavergne and Benny Fontenot, Sr.; her parents, Douglas Ortego and Josephine Ortego; and her siblings, J. D., Norman, Ralph, Lois Little, Beverly Faul, Neva Arnold Gloria Leger and Merle Wyble.
She is survived by: her children, Debby Davenport (James) of Lake Charles and Ricky Lavergne (Ann) of Ville Platte; her grandchildren, James Davenport (Jennifer) of Omaha, Douglas Davenport (April) of Lake Charles, Erik Davenport (Amber) of Dallas and Laura Kiper of Madisonville; and her great grandchildren, Hans, Hugo, Victoria, Avila Kiper, Douglas, Wyatte Davenport, Claire, Olivia Davenport, Jeremiah, Evelyn and Lydia Davenport.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Sacred Heart Foundation in lieu of flowers.
