He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey Fitzgerald Smith; his son Michael Anthony Smith; his parents, Gordon Smith and Nellie Buras Champagne; and his sister Miriam Smith Cook.
He is survived by: his daughter Suzette Smith Adams (Michael); his grandchildren, Lisa Smith Morgan (James), Suzette Smith Meynard (Jeremy) and Waylon Adams (Courtney); his great grandchildren, Clayton Desport, Jr., James Morgan IV (Hayden) and Baylee Meynard; and his great great grandchild Sebastian Morgan.
