He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie Mae Johnson Oliver and Otis Charles Johnson; and his grandparents, Rev. B. B. Moses and Martha B. Moses. He is survived by: his children, Osha Ward (Michael, Sr.) of Savannah, GA, Damien Ross Johnson of New Iberia, LA and Otis "Joey" Charles Joseph Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA; his grandchildren, Michael Shawn Ward, Jr. and Malia Michelle Ward of Savannah, GA; his sisters, Alva J. Martin of Varnado, LA and Ora D. Rembert of Jacksonville, Florida; and his aunts and uncles, Helen Magee (Gary C.) of Varnado, LA, Claranetta Maxwell of Detroit, Rev. James Moses of Detroit Michigan and Virgil Flynn of Detroit. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
