He is survived by: his wife Essie; his children, Terry Owens (Michell) of Kansas City, MO, Anthony Newkirk (Angela) of Katy, TX, Darren Newkirk (Demetria) of Carrolton, TX., Wanda Bridges (Luther) of Tylertown Mississippi, Lunelia Newkirk of Varnado, LA and Tomikia Newkirk of Atlanta, GA; his siblings, Willa Mae Walls, Dorothy Newkirk, Oscar Lee and James Earl Newkirk; his nephew Dr. Lesley McKinley; and his niece Sonya Pack. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and two faithful caregivers.
