He was predeceased by: his parents, Andre' Matherne and Ruth Hymel Matherne; and his siblings, Andre Matherne, Bessie Matherne Waguespack, Florence Matherne Dufresne, Loretta Matherne Kreamer and Hazel Matherne Gautreaux.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Becnel Matherne; his children, Vanessa Becnel (Curtis), Debbie Poche' (Jerome) and Michael Matherne; and his grandchildren, Kasey Matherne, Dave Poche', Josh Becnel (Ashley), Rory Poche' (Jessica), Laura Matherne and Michelle Faucheux (Brent). He is also survived by great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Project.
