He is survived by: his wife Denise Fontenot of Turkey Creek; his children, James Brent Fontenot (Carlene) of West Lake, Brian Henry Fontenot (Kelly) of Ville Platte, Warren Luke Fontenot of Ville Platte, Deborah Charlie (Craig) of Ville Platte, Susan Ortego (James) of Ville Platte and Judi Marcantel (Brandon) of Ville Platte; and his stepdaughter Aleah West (Robbie) of Turkey Creek. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
