He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Cox and Ruby Cox; his daughter Heather Cox; and his siblings, David Cox, James Cox, Rachel Wood, Tish Vail, Shirley McGuire and Evie Southall.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Gatlin Cox; his son Zac Cox (Hillary); and his sister Darlene Vines. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Southern Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
