She was predeceased by: her husband William Edward Shields; her grandson Kevin Shields; her parents, John Wash Fairchild and Maggie Laurabelle Warren Fairchild; and her siblings, Ruby Hammett, Robert Fairchild, Charlie Fairchild and Mattie Fairchild Jaussard.
She is survived by: her son William E. Shields of Seminole, Florida; her granddaughter Lindsey Shields Chaney; and her nieces and nephews, Jeanette Clement of Lake Providence, Louisiana, Karen Fairchild Lensing of Transylvania, Louisiana, Rob Fairchild of Transylvania, Louisiana, Bert Lensing of Lake Providence and Gabe Lensing of Madison.
