He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene DeJean Sr. and Lillian Lane Munter; his brothers, Eugene DeJean and Leon "Dut" DeJean; his brother-in-law Marvin "Red" Baudin; and his grandson Joshua DeJean.

He is survived by: his siblings, Louis "Pete" DeJean, Marsha Brown (John) and Deana Baudean; his former wife Edna Carson Wiltz; his children, Elizabeth Cruz (Anthony), Robert DeJean Jr. (Katherine) and Michelle Risher (Scott); his grandchildren, Katherine Pitre (Terrance), Anthony Cruz III (Rachel), Nicole Taylor (Thomas), Madeline Davey, Justin DeJean, Christopher Holloway, Mallory Cruz and Brett Risher; and his close friend Donna M. Hall. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
