He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Jones and Catherine Miller Jones; his brother Philip Wayne "Tiny" Jones; and his stepbrother John Rudolph "Rudy" Jones. He is survived by: his wife Donna Jones; his brother Gene Jones; his children, Tonya Jones Westmoreland (Eddie), Kim Jones Prather (Rayford) and Johnny Jones Jr.; and his grandchildren, Brooklyn Westmoreland, Austin, Ashton Prather, Bryce and Brandt Jones.
