He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johnston Jones Sr. and Frances Gibbens Jones-Crow; his siblings, Rebecca Jones LeBlanc and Dr. John J. Jones, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Dr. Michael F. Leblanc.

He is survived by: his siblings, Ben Jones (Mollie), Lydia Jones Goulas (Danny), Wendy Jones Murrian (Todd) and Frances Jones Roman (Roger); and his sister-in-law Frankie Jones. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Thibodaux Funeral Home (104 St Patrick St, Thibodaux, LA 70301). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
