He was predeceased by: his wife Lydia Mae Ledet Verdun; his parents, Louise Champagne and Victor Verdun; and his siblings, Fred Verdun, Louis Verdun, Frank Verdun, Oscar Verdun, Lucy Leblanc and Marie Cavalier.
He is survived by: his sons, Nelson Verdun, Jr. (Shirley) and Barry Verdun (Susan); his grandchildren, Stacey Pennison (Shawn), Tori Weimer (Greg), Nikoebi Burson (Jonathan) and Renee Lamb (Tim); his stepgranddaughter Colette Jeansonne Aizen; his great grandchildren, Kayla Holley (Trey), Matthew Landry, Anna Weimer, Jace Weimer, Ava Burson and Emma Burson; and his stepgreat-grandson Dominic Aizen.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Co-Cathedral (721 Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA 70301). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
