She was predeceased by: her parents, William Coleman Dowden and Elizabeth Masters Dowden; her siblings, Jesse Coleman Dowden, William Monroe Dowden, Clarence Edward Dowden, Willard Frances Dowden, Agnes Dowden Gilcrease, Bessie Dowden McKinney, Cora Dowden McKinney, Betty Dowden Staggs, Winifred Pearl Dowden and Ada Dowden James; and her husband Charles.
She is survived by: her daughters, Monica Gayle Monk and Charlotte Monk Smith; her stepdaughters, Sandra Gueydan Hickey and Pamela Gueydan Moll; her grandchildren, Charles David Smith and Katherine Grace Smith; her stepgrandchildren, Theresa Hickey Swartz (Adam), Catherine Hickey Cole (Robby), Alice Hickey Cruse (Joe) of Paul James, Michelle Moll and Joseph Moll (Michelle); her great grandchildren, Joey Adcock, Mea Adcock, Trey Cole, Ann-Marie Cole, Charlotte Bell Cole, Addison Jane Cole of James David, Sam Cruse, Emma Cate Cruse, Eleanor Cruse, Anderson Hickey, Elliot Hickey, Sophia Moll and Alexia Moll; and her nieces and nephews, Iris Huff (Jim), Zelda Ray, Anita Gilcrease Smith, Nathan McKinney, Eddie Dowden, Kenny Dowden, Dean Gilcrease and Danny Watley.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Co-Cathedral (721 Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA 70301).
Grace met James Gueydan at various charitable functions and Nicholls Foundation events.
