He was predeceased by: his parents, Joyce Boylan Joia and Carlo Joia; and his sister Florence Rita Hinchey. He is survived by: his wife Karen Bouvier; his children, Jill Barbay (Troy), Hope McDonald (Lenny) and Michael Joia (Kristy); his grandchildren, Jordan Barbay (Jordan), Carly Turner (Troy), Chase Barbay and Luke Joia; his great grandchildren, Beck, Brooks Turner and Meadow Barbay; his sister Cheryl Joia Roberts (Mack); and his sister-in-law Susan Bouvier Capdeville (late Merrol).
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Children's Hospital New Orleans, 200 Henry Clay Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118.
