He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Fondren, and James Albert Fondren, Sr.; his brothers, James Albert Fondren, Jr. and Robert Dewey Fondren; and his parents-in-law, Virgil Thornton, Sr. and Jimmie Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Thornton Fondren; his son William "Taylor" Fondren (Lisa); and his siblings, Lloyd Ray Fondren (Robin) and Eva Fondren Taylor. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
