He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Beulah and Jesse Laird; his wife Virginia Lynell Hopkins; his children, James "Jim" Richard Laird (Ann) of Mound, Janet Laird Pierce of Transylvania and John Irving Laird (Debbie) of Livingston, TX; his grandchildren, Jenna Laird Leger (Marcus) of Crowley, Suzanne Laird Dartez (Kalem) of Winnsboro, William Matthew Laird of Cold Springs, TX and Clay Laird Pierce of Warner, OK; his great grandchildren, Mary Marcus, Sam and Eleanor Leger; and his siblings, Ann Kukor, John Laird and Allan Laird. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
