He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Wright Speir; his parents, George Speir and Lillie Speir; and his siblings, George Speir, Jr., Frances Cole, Virginia Renwick, Marie Glenn and Patsy Causey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sandy Miller (Alan) and Sonya Speir; his grandchildren, Katie Dupuy (Daniel), Kelsie Scharr (Jacob) and James David Miller; his great grandchild Lillie Sue Dupuy; and his brother Jerry Speir. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
