He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Joseph Janise and Lydia Wilks Janise Lapearous; his stepfather Claytus Lapearous; and his brother Robert Jean Janise. He is survived by: his wife Anna Jean Thibodeaux Janise of Sunset; his children, Donna Dugas (Michael) of Sunset, Lori Labbe (Kevin) of Sunset, Kay Savoie (Tony) of Cankton and Michael Dwayne Janise (Dori) of Sunset; his grandchildren, Crystal Dugas, Matthew Dugas (Erica), Jennifer Landry (Elward), Andrew Dugas (Alyssa), Brandi Domingue (John), Shelby Labbe, Cassie Labbe, Christian Labbe and Hailie Savoie; his stepgrandchildren, Fanna Easter (Rick) and Mandi Foreman (Tim); his great grandchildren, Saige Percle, Kainen Percle, Sophia Percle, Haiden Dugas, Tucker Dugas, Peyton Landry, Parker Broussard, Wyatt Domingue and Beckham Robin; and his stepgreat-grandchild Izaiah Foreman.
