He was predeceased by: his wife Thelma Charpentier; his daughter Angela Ann Boykin; his parents, Louis Charpentier and Telesia Charpentier; and his siblings, Ann Terrebonne, Louis Charpentier, Johnny Charpentier and Willy Charpentier.
He is survived by: his children, Kay Johns (Mike), Ray Joseph Charpentier, Jr. (Angie), Travis Paul Charpentier (Carol), Mark Charpentier (Melissa) and Karen Hancock (Allen); his siblings, Jerry Charpentier (Diane), Myra Rogers (Melvin, Sr.) and Joyce Elderidge; his friend Margie Savoy; and his children-in-law, Tally Boykin (Tammie) and Rosie Charpentier. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
