He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Mott and Zulma Mott; and his siblings, Bertha Lee Meche, Elverna Ann Leger, Doris Faye Robison and Hubert James Mott.
He is survived by: his siblings, Patsy Mott Bunch (Earl Jr.), Alvin Mott Jr. "Duke" (Maxie) and Joseph Mott (Katheryne); his sons, John Henry Matherne and Terrance Charles Louviere (Jessica); his grandchildren, Cassie Landry, Bayle Bernard, Seth Louviere, Trista Louviere, Camden Louviere and Lanie Louviere; and his great grandchildren, Malaki, Kace and Giovanni.
