Jackson William Stine Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 23, 2020, at the age of 102, Jackson William Stine of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Doris Drost Stine; his parents, Andrew Stine and Elma Stine; his siblings, Rose Waverland Stine and Kyle Kenneth Stine; his granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Stine; his stepgrandson Shelby Hathaway LaCroix III; and his great grandchild Holden William Stine.
He is survived by: his wife Dee Dee; his sisters, Dorothy Byrley of Tyler, TX and Gerry McCallum of Sulphur; and his children, Janie Stine LaCroix (Shelby) of Clearlake, TX, Richard William Stine (Mary) of Lake Charles, Gary Carl Stine (Vickie) of Sulphur, Jay Andrew Stine (Wanda) of DeRidder, Dennis Neal Stine (Marla) of Lake Charles, David Paul Stine (Kim) of Lake Charles and Timothy Drost Stine (Jane) of Sulphur. He is also survived by father died, when J. W. was only 11 years old, in an automobile accident in Oklahoma leaving his mother to raise 4 pre-teenaged children.
J. W. was born on July 22, 1918 to Sulphur natives, Andrew and Elma Stine in Victoria, Texas in difficult times, just before the end of the Great War, World War I, and during the worldwide Spanish flu pandemic.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in his memory be given to Our Lady Catholic School Foundation or J.W. and Doris Stine scholarship at McNeese.
