She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Benjamin Eggleston and Lottie Eggleston; her husband C. J. Fontenot; her brothers, Ray Eggleston and Frank Eggleston; and her children, Stevens Lee Hardy, Carol Ann Hardy, Robert Hardy (Roxanne), Larry Hardy (Lynn), Ray Hardy (Regina) and Keith Hardy. She was also cherished by 17 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and 2 honorary grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Hilda's name to her favorite charity: St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
