He was predeceased by: his parents, Ovey Gilbert and Emitile Gilbert; his son James Lee Gilbert; and his siblings, Ray Lee Gilbert, Melvin Gilbert and Nita Navarre.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Gilbert; and his daughters, Tina Simmons (Robert), Lisa Desormeaux (Randy), Pam Swinney (Mark) and Missy Hastings (Steve Corbello).
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson and Robison Funeral Home (107 W Napoleon St, Sulphur, LA 70663). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
