He is survived by: his children, Eugene Nichols Jr. (Leila) of Lake Charles, LA, Grace Ann Nichols of Sulphur, LA and Russell Metreyeon of Baytown, TX. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
