He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Leonard and Elaine Benckenstein (Ellis); his former wife Brenda Landry of Vinton; and his granddaughter Victoria. He is survived by: his grandchild Charlie; his wife Marsha Kaye Harrison of Lake Charles; his children, Lynette Washburn, Ellen Stoddard (Tommy), Eunice McBeth (Bart) and Charles David Benckenstein (Dee Ann); his brother Claude Len Benckenstein (Graciela); and his grandchildren, Alecia Davis, Hannah Hetzel and Michael Washburn.
