He was predeceased by: his parents, O. D. Graves and Evelyn Peek Graves; his grandson Matthew Metheny; his great grandchild Peyton Metheny; and his sister Mary Mashaw.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lynee'Graves Metheny (Kim) and Jerelyn Graves Smith (Ritchie); his grandsons, Heath Smith (Amber), Josh Metheny (Amy) and Dylan Smith (Danielle); his great grandchildren, Eli, Bryan, Micah, Finley, Brylee and Macy Grace; his sister Sue Saunders; and his adoptive daughter Tao "Maria" Boyle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
