He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Stires (Dinky); and his son Cecil Tackett. He is survived by: his great grandchild Pap; his children, Toni Thompson (Randy), James Stires (Cindy), John Stires (Ann), Lovell Tackett (Laurie), Michael Breeland (Jerri) and Vern Breeland (Melissa); and his brother Wesley Stires. He is also survived by his wife and family, 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
