He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Austin and Julia Young Austin; his wives, Freddie Dupuis Austin and Sue Melugin Austin; his son Stephen J. Austin; and his siblings, Clifton E. Austin, Sr., Vernon C. Austin, Eugene L. Austin, Thomas I. Austin, Sr., Harold D. Austin, Wilson Austin and Dorothy Austin Arnold Goudeau.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Austin Lantz (Randall) and Elizabeth "Libby" Austin Badgett (Jason) of Sterlington, LA.; his grandsons, Benjamin Lantz, Christopher Lantz, Jonathon Lantz, Brady Badgett and Preston Badgett; and his great grandchildren, Mason Lantz, Olivia Lantz, Ava Lantz, Vivian Lantz and Logan Lantz. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and close friends.
