He was predeceased by: his wife Nell Garner; his parents, Walter Garner and Maude Garner; his brother Hugh Wayne Garner; and his grandsons, Charles G. Pickens, Jr. and Gregg O. Pickens.
He is survived by: his children, Angie Garner Pickens (Gregg) of Start, LA, Lori Garner of Rayville, LA and Kenny Laird of Start, LA; his grandchildren, Melissa Pickens Durflinger (Jarrod) of West Lake, LA, Stephanie Pickens Dubard (Danny) of Ragley, LA, Ashley Duke Taylor (Jordan) of Houston, TX, Jack Thomas Lockeby and Cody Lockeby of Monroe, LA; his great grandchildren, Raegan Cole, Jolene Dubard, Waylon Dubard, Addie Taylor, Kennedy Taylor, Emma Lockeby and Anna Denise Lockeby; and his sister Joy Whithorne of Oak Ridge, LA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
