He was predeceased by: his daughter Anne Louise Borders Stewart; his sister Diane Alain Borders; his brother-in-law Tom Moore; his stepfather Oscar N. Harris; his daughter-in-law Sally Metcalf Borders; and his former wives, Zulma McDermott Borders, Vietnamese and Chuong Ho Duong.
He is survived by: his son Doubles Champions; his wife Emma Jean Sewell; his sons, Robert Harrison Borders, Janet, William, Gay, Blaine M., Carla Borders and Jonathan O. Borders; his son-in-law David B. Stewart; his grandchildren, Jason Borders, Aaron Borders, James R. Borders, Russell Stevenson, Rebecca Borders, Jay Wilson, Paige Borders, Lauren Stevenson, Julie Anne Stewart, Caroline Stewart, Robb Colvin, Olivia Stewart, Audry Claire Borders, Christine Romagossa, Garrett Romagossa, Ryan Sewell, Duc Duong, Quang Duong and Trung Duong; and also, Hazel Mae Borders, Herschel C. Harrison and Iris. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; And also by a sponsored Vietnamese refugee family: Hong Duong, Duc and Hanh Duong, Quang and Dao Duong, Thien and Binh Cao, Dr. Trung and Nhu Duong, Thuy and Jeff Miles and fourteen grandchildren.
