She was predeceased by: her parents, William Gordon Slappy and Velma Ora Slappy; and her son-in-law Ed Colvin. She is survived by: her husband James T. Barnett of Springhill, LA; her children, Mike Barnett (Shirley) and Mitzi Colvin; her grandchildren, Brianne Parnell (Chris), Tori Knighten (Lane), Shelby Correa (Ben) and Lance Colvin (Halee); and her great grandchildren, Jillian, Beckett Parnell, Tolan, Amelia Knighten, Cruz and Creed Correa.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
