It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Wilbur Upshaw of Spearsville, Louisiana, who passed away on August 4, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ela Rockett Upshaw and Edwin Phelston Upshaw; his former wife Videll Hale Upshaw; his wife Catherine Upshaw; and his sisters, Sylvia Love, Edith Pennick and Wanna Lee Jackson.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Upshaw (Jo) of Spearsville, LA, Eddie Upshaw (Pei Sah) of Montgomery, AL, Nancy Taylor (Tim) of Hawkinsville, GA and Sallie Oxford (Tony) of Ruston, LA; and his siblings, Laverne Shephard of Eugene, OR and Derl Upshaw of Spearsville, LA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; one great great grandchild along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
