He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee L. Smith and Mary Alice Wallace Smith. He is survived by: his son Terrell Smith, Jr. (Teddy) of Slidell, LA; his sisters, Vicki Grubbs (Mack) and Lana Smith; and his nephew Phillip Rogers of Hattiesburg.
