He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Massarini Helmke of Slidell and Bernhardt Joseph Helmke, Jr. of Slidell; his grandparents, Henrietta Key of New Orleans and Oliver Key of New Orleans; his aunt Wealthy Helmke Cabaniss of Chalmette; and his brother Bernhardt Joseph Helmke III of Chalmette.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Lee Summers Helmke of Slidell; his son Clinton Helmke of Houston; his daughter-in-law Anne Delery Helmke (Covington) of Houston; his grandson Michael Delery McWhorter; his niece Karen Helmke Frick of Mandeville, LA; and his nephew Chris Helmke of Slidell, LA.. He is also survived by his many Texas cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home (3827 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70119). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
