He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Rose Bowe Darby and Franklin Darby; his brother-in-law Frank Darby; and his daughter-in-law Linda Ann Boutwell. He is survived by: his wife Irma Darby Mitchell; his sons, Christopher Boutwell, Robby Mitchell IV (Bella Schulz) and Adam Mitchell (Emily); his granddaughters, Crystal Ogle (Daniel) and Lorraine Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Elliot and Ruby Ogle; his father Robert Mitchell II; his stepmother Phyllis Mitchell; his sisters, Kaethe Melia, Reba Mitchell and Wendy Watson; and his siblings-in-law, Rhonda Douglas (Bob), Rene Darby (Cindy) and Clifford Darby (Larry Brueggemier). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater New Orleans or the Pontchartrain Conservancy in Robert's memory.
