With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Nathan Brocks of Slidell, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie "Routine" Sr. Payne-Brocks and Irene Payne-Brocks; his grandparents, Harry, Hannah Payne-Brocks, Nathan and Martha Richardson-Brocks; his godparents, Alvie Henry and Shirley Mae Johnson; his wife Mary Brocks; his siblings, Octavia Brocks-Thomas (Winston) and Willie Brocks Jr. (Cynthia); his niece April; and his nephew Sidney "Routine" Bentley III.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Isidore (Grid Sr.) and Trenille "Albert" Bentley (Mickerria); his grandchildren, Terrion Isidore, Tre'Anjalique, Allegra, Isaiah and MicKyren Bentley; his great grandchild Jakyi Simons; his siblings, Audrey Bentley (Sidney), Terry Brocks (Jeanne), Myrtle Brocks-Parker (Williams), Retired Master, Clarence Brocks (Cynthia), Joann Brocks, Carroll Brocks, Carmen Brocks-Foley (late Walter) and Charles Williamson (Yolanda); his aunt Rose Mary Payne Rapp (Vernon); his uncle Author Payne; his great-aunt Bernetta Young; and his close friend James Taylor. He is also survived by daughter, son-in-law, son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Baptist Church (136 St John Ln, Braithwaite, LA 70040). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Slidell Veterans Cemetery.
