She was predeceased by: her mothers, Mary Manning Thornton and Clementine Thomas Thornton; and her brother Lester Thornton. She is survived by: her children, Richard Thornton, Kiwana Thornton, Latoya Thornton, Renado Thornton of Long Beach, MS and Tekandra Wise; and her siblings, Robert Thornton (Marilyn), Willie Thornton and Mary Lacour (Robert). She is also survived by grandchildren and twelve (12) great grandchildren.
