He is survived by: his wife Gae Canal; his children, Christopher Allen Canal (Bridget) and Melissa Annette Canal Nelson; his grandchildren, Danielle Marie Canal, Cody Jackson Nelson and Israel Alayna Nelson; and his sister Jeanne Brown.
