Janet Roux Cervini Obituary
Janet Roux Cervini, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at the age of 93, in Slidell, Louisiana. Born on November 16, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Janet's life was a tapestry of family, culinary artistry, and community devotion.
Janet was the cherished daughter of the late Clarence Roux and Bertha Martin Roux. She grew up in a vibrant household alongside her siblings, Norma Mangipano, Norman Roux, Henry Roux, and Althea Waldmiller, all of whom predeceased her. Her heart found its match in Joseph Cervini, to whom she was a devoted wife for 65 years until his passing.
Her legacy continues through her loving children, Mary Ann Vicidomina (Vincent) and JoAnn Audibert (Ricky). Janet's joy multiplied with the arrival of each grandchild: Julia Windham, Emily Bolen, Ben Vicidomina (Michelle), Jeanne Audibert, Ricky Audibert (Allie), and Corey Audibert (Sacha). Her love knew no bounds and extended to her 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
Janet's life was a testament to the value of home and family. As a homemaker, she created a warm and welcoming environment that was the heart of family gatherings. Her hands were rarely still, often busy preparing meals that would become the centerpiece of cherished family memories. Her culinary skills were renowned, and her recipes will be treasured and passed down for generations.
Her involvement in the Homemakers' Club was a reflection of her commitment to her role and her desire to connect with others who shared her passion. Janet was also a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, where she found spiritual solace and community.
Janet's kindness extended beyond her family; she was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her grandchildren, in particular, benefited from her wisdom and support, often turning to her for advice or simply enjoying the comfort of her presence.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Modern Home Health and Modern Hospice for taking excellent care of their beloved mother. Nurses Anna, Leah, and Kristen went above and beyond with compassion and love. The family would also like to thank Myletta Farria, Janet's sitter, who has become a part of their family. Thank you for your excellent and loving care. Thank you to Georgann Foster, Janet's best friend for over 40 plus years. She is a true best friend.
Janet will be laid to rest in Audubon Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
