We are sad to announce that on September 24, 2024, at the age of 81, Frank John Mathius of Slidell, Louisiana, born in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Mathius and Hedwig Mathius (Janc); and his brother Sam Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mona Mathius of Slidell; his children, John of Nashville, Margaret Leonards (Mathius) of Houston and Samuel of Boston; his brother Marvin of Chicago; and his grandchildren, Jack and Lottie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church (1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA 70458). A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Frank's name to Reading is Fundamental (http://www.rif.org) or Hospice House (http://www.thehospicehouse.org).
