He was predeceased by: his parents, David W. Laughery, Sr. and Jeanette Laughery; and his wife Linda Dirden Laughery. He is survived by: his children, Linda Holland (Daryl) of McCall Creek, Mississippi and Michael Laughery (Dinah) of Austin, Texas; and his grandchildren, Daniel Holland (Michelle), Jackson, Carson Laughery and Rachel. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
