She was predeceased by: her parents, Katie Owens and Titus Owens; her grandparents, Sevilla and Bill Crawford; and her husband Edward Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Tameeca Owens, Titus Owens, Katie Owens (Kenny) and Brandon Owens (Sade); her grandchildren, Makayla Nelson and Samiyah Thornton; her siblings, Curtis Owens, Sr. (Tawnya), Karl Owens, Sr. (Tiffany) and Luanda Owens; her friends, Waketa Brister, Fredricka Gibson, Dedra Dupree and Wanda Denson; and her cousins, Veronica Lewis Brown, Eric Crawford and Gilda Crawford.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Quillen Temple (812 Stanley St, Slidell, LA 70458). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at the Slidell Memorial Cemetery (1413 Daney St, Slidell, LA 70458).
