He was predeceased by: his grandfather Ed; his parents, Elmer Hughes and Fannie Mae Alford Hughes; his siblings, Eugene, Aubrey Hughes, Francis Frazier, Clara Dell McClendon and Barbara Thomason; his wife Barbara Hughes; his children, Gloria Faith Hughes and Ricky Hughes; his grandson Dustin Adams; and his daughter-in-law Jackie Hughes.
He is survived by: his children, Don Ed Hughes, Keith Hughes (Dana), Debbie Darsey (Mike) and Stacy Welch (Walter Leonard); his grandchildren, Ashley Morris, Corey Freeman, Brad Hughes, David Hughes, Krysten Darsey, Ed Hughes, Wesley Adams and Angel Louis; and his caregiver Melanie. He is also survived by 26 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
