He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Ray and Leona Blazer Ray; his daughter Cynthia Diane Ray; and his siblings, Dale, Bobby, Gene, Keith, Pete Ray, Eileen Walters, Helen Rutledge and Doris Hinerman.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Sue Hillman Ray; his children, Richard Burns (Aprile), Michael Burns (Donna), Billy Ray (Kathy), Vickie Standifer (Jesse) and Chelsea Benjamin (Scottie); his sisters, Ruth Ann Tinlin, Norma Rutledge and Lois Kirby; and his grandchildren, Nick Burns, Amber Smith, Justin Burns, Zack Burns, Aaron Burns, Cody Burns, Josh Burns, Jas Standifer, Courtney Hagan, Carleigh Standifer, Stephani Swisher and Mitchell Ray. He is also survived by twenty-four great grandchildren.
